Graduation

Andrew's platoon
He's working his flag
Marching in front of the stands
It was a long march!
Andrew and his ds(drill sargent)
Dear Family,

Andrew graduated today and it was fantastic! By the time the Lt Colonel finished there wasn't a dry eye in the stadium. I was very proud of Andrew and even better, he was proud of himself. I have attached some pictures, enjoy!!

Family Day

This is Andrew's platoon emerging on the parade field. They burst out of the woods on the far side of the parade field while the drill sargents through smoke bombs and simulated artillery fire, very cool!
Andrew at rest visiting with the family.
He still has his beautiful smile, the ds(drill sargents) call him colgate.
Andrew has the honor of carrying the platoon flag. He always marches in the front and stands in the front when they are in formation.
He is doing so well! Looks like he knows what he is doing, doesn't it.

Dear Family,

Andrew is doing great and he tells us he fits in the army like a round peg in a round hole. It was so cool to see the maturity and growth he has made in the last ten weeks. We were able to keep him for the day as long as we stayed on base. The base is like a self-contained city complete with restaurants, bowling alleys and souvenir shops. There are lots of souvenir shops, Andrew says he wants no reminders regarding basic training so xnay on the souvenir. It is so weird listening to Andrew. We wanted to go somewhere on base and he looked at us and said that's a no-no. He saw a private with his beret on in a store and he said that's a no-no. He never realized what the rest of us were laughing about; That's a NO-NO!?!? He looks different with no hair but great in his uniform. His beret looks good on him. I'm going to attempt to send some pictures. I'll write more later. Cindy
