Tomatoes, "Hoosies", and Trough Swimming!

Last Wednesday we (Lucy and Rebecca) went to visit the Mena folks...and the Fayettville folks...and the Greenwood folks!  We had a great time together. Lucy's little personality is starting to really come out and as Nana said, "it's getting harder to see her go because she's dug a little hole in our hearts:)."  We wish we could hire someone to come and stay with us to take pictures the whole time! Here are just a few of the gems we captured during our visit....

Before we left town we stopped at the bank and they gave Lucy a grape sucker....this was taken about 5 minutes later.  If you look closely you can see the sticky purple goo all over her face:)

On our way through Little Rock we stopped to visit my dear friend and her newborn baby girl Eliza.  Lucy loves to hold babies!

When we arrived at Nana and Papa's, Aunt Mary and Nana were finishing up canning tomatoes. They had a small bowl leftover and so they gave them to Lucy and quickly learned that.....

 Lucy....
 LOVES....
TOMATOES!!!
I think that's all Lucy ate while we were there. When we got back to Searcy she spotted some on our counter and begged to have them!

The next day we also found out that Lucy loves horses...or "hoosies" as she calls them:)  As we were eating breakfast on the front porch I pointed out the horses on the hill at the Hollands'.  As soon as Lucy saw them she started trekking down the driveway in her boots and jammies.  We thought she'd stop at the top of the driveway...nope....didn't even look back!  She was three-quarters of the way down the hill before we dashed for our shoes and Nana hopped on the lawn-mower to go catch her!

Thankfully, she likes to ride the "tractor" too;)

After that Nana took us to her garden and Lucy helped pick some more yummy tomatoes.

You probably can't tell from the pictures but it was HOT out there so we loaded up the wagon and headed back to the house.

We had planned to try and go to the pool to swim but as they have no trees for shade, we decided that wasn't the best idea since we didn't want to boil!  Instead, in true DeRamus fashion, we borrowed a trough from Aunt Mary:)

Who needs a swimsuit when your birthday suit is so cute, right??

The next day was party-day.  I'm sad I didn't get any pictures from the party but I did get a couple afterwards at the shopping/dance party:)  Thanks Aunt Cindy for the adorable outfit! It was perfect for Jade's Garden-themed First Birthday:)

It took us awhile to get a good picture because she was really gettin' down!

Both Lucy and I had a great time with Nana and Papa.  I'm so glad we had some free time to be able to spend with them.  We can't wait to visit again!

Love you All,

Rebecca
